Sew Buddies

As someone in our congregation recovered from cancer she prayed about the idea of joining her passion for sewing and quilting with helping others.  From that connection Sew Buddies was formed.  Sew Buddies is a open to everyone, young and old, male and female .  They meet once a month for several hours making small pillows.  They cut, iron, sew, stuff, and write on these pillows, but they also eat, laugh, pray and share devotions together.  These pillows are then distributed all over Wake County and beyond to hospitals, cancer centers, and through family and friends of the church family.  These pillows are small, tangible expressions that have a large message .... you are loved!  These pillows are made with love, out of a love and because God first showed us how to love.
Sew Buddies meet on the second Thursday of most months, 4:30-8:30 p.m.  Sew Buddies has also started a ladies crafting retreat once a quarter.  This is a time where women bring their own projects; quilts, scrapbooks, cross stitch, and other projects and enjoy a time of working, eating, laughing and fellowship with others.
